ORCA is pleased to offer our members more benefits and value in 2014 than ever before, with a number of exciting initiatives, programs and events launching this year.
For front-line staff, managers and administrators, the ORCA Tutor is already the most accessible and easy to use learning management system for completing and managing training required under provincial regulations. The new and improved ORCA Tutor Plus, to launch in February, will introduce more convenient management options, multi-role login, greater corporate oversight options, an online library and much more. This system will also house the ORCA Operations Manual, the key resource for policies and procedures for every retirement home.
In the next year, ORCA will also launch its new accreditation program. Members will be able to obtain an ORCA Accredited status by meeting defined criteria following an onsite inspection.
The ORCA Data Collaborative, a ground-breaking analytics program that will provide Canada’s first ever market and operational data collection and reporting program for the retirement community sector, will be launched in the spring. It will provide analytics that will help retirement home operators, investors and developers benchmark, identify trends and support decision making. Learn more here [link].
ORCA has always been known for its great member events and the tradition will continue this year. In addition to the Together We Care Convention in April and ORCA Summer Conference in September, we will also host our regional member road shows in the spring and fall in communities across Ontario.
Finally, our home directory will be expanding! Starting in January 2014, ORCA will offer a mobile version of our popular home finder tool. This means that those who are visiting our website on their mobile devices will get a much more compatible and user friendly experience.
These benefits, and the others listed here, enable ORCA member retirement homes to have access to the most up to date, comprehensive education. Features of this education program include the latest information on best practices, education and networking events, opportunities to learn directly from expert organizations, operations manuals, and templates and guidelines for policy making. If you are looking for a retirement home for yourself or a loved one, be sure to choose a home that is an ORCA member.
